To Edit or SOOC...
As an artist..when I draw or paint..I add in the elements that I like and just don't add things I don't want in the creation. In photography it is a whole other ball game. My artist's eye wants my pictures to pop and to offer up what I see in all its beautiful glory. This sometimes means editing. I loved the shot of this beautiful face..but with just a little cropping and light adjustment...it pops..I love that.
I spent last Friday evening downtown at the Artwalk. We have several downtown galleries and they open up and have artists in residence for the evening. It is busy and fun! The performance teams from Nonni and Fox's school were all over downtown doing their thing also.
I was asked to come down and record the event! Jugglers, drummers, actors, singers, chess team...all out doing their thing. OMG I had a blast!!
Sweet feet....
Giggle...one of Fox's favorite teachers...being silly.
I took 1100 shots that evening...to edit or not edit..that is the questions. I added a few SOOC - straight out of the camera shots here.
I narrowed down the bunch to about 700 of the clearest shots...deleted the blurry ones. I was pleased that, that many turned out worth looking at..I will edit a few and share those soon..I have about 100 favorites...whoot! Don't worry won't share that many LOL!
Slowly but surely I am figuring out that bad a** camera...whoo hoo!
Happy Thursday all!

Thanks Sarah!! Great Topic! I didn't have that abbr. of SOOC, lol......I've been doing that for so long because I didn't know how to use any pboto editing programs, lol. I learned to take photos when we really had to crop and edit as much in camera as possible because all edits after that required a lot of fancy work and retouching was all done by hand and brush! My boyfriend now does amazing things with Photoshop and turns all my shots into amazing pieces of art, but ya know, sometimes the ol SOOC shot is the keeper, the way it really is! This world has become entirely too photoshopped!! Love ya!
You have such a great eye and capture people at ease, having fun or when they don't even know it! Great job.
xo
Looking forward to more photos!
These are Great! We have an art walk here too every first friday of the month. I really must go more often!

Sarah, that sounds like it would have been a lot of fun, I just don't know how you find the time for everything. glad you are well. take care. hugs
Cinner...I was sooooooo tried afterwards...I went to bed REALLY early LOL!!
Thakns all:)
I love the photo of the window reflection. It is an outside looking inside reflecting outside kind of shot I find so fascinating. MC Escher has the fish drawing that this reminds me of. You see the fish under the water, the water and surrounding edges as well as the reflections on the water surface.
Well done!
Cropping is your best friend!
These are great Sarah! Nice post too. I am never satisfied with what comes straight out of my camera...I have to take it into Photoshop & play with it!
