Posie Pig....

The second in a series of henna inspired illustrations. I kinda like this little pig..you can see she is quite happy with her posies decorations. Standing in a bed of black eyed Susan's..she is a feast for the eyes! I am having a bit of fun with this series and am thinking there should be a few more!

Any thoughts on what kind of critter I should henna next?

Spring Giveaway..Dragons and Witches....

So I thought it was about time I had a giveaway...why?? Cause I love you guys and I have been so busy with school this last year that I have neglected my blog and all of you wonderful folks. But it is summer ..well almost and I have it off!! WHOOOOT! So I thought a giveaway was in order.

I am trying something new this year..some class tile pendants! There has been a learning curve ...ok a big learning curve. But I have them pegged and honestly I love making them. Each is original artwork encased in resin under a glass tile. This sweet pair of witchy boots is 1"x 1 1/2"s and has a silver bail and ball chain attached (24"). A sweet little witchy treat. I know it is the beginning of summer..but I am getting a head start on the fall season!  

Of course I had to add a drawing print to the mix...I kinda love this fellow..my "Henna Dragon"

He is 8"x10" and was a challenge piece. Both of these pieces will go to one lucky winner. So here are the rules...

Henna Dragon...he went a bit Boho:)

Every now and again you have an idea that you love. Making that idea translate through your fingers to the page is not always so simple. My Muse loves to tease me. So when Fancy Pants Sketch Club on Facebook offered a "Henna" challenge....well this is where I went. What creamy colored dragon wouldn't want a henna tattoo?? Sitting in a bunch of posies..cause he is a very sweet dragon.

I thought about doing a beautiful woman's hand or foot..but well you guys know me..I tend to color outside the lines..so to speak. So here he is..my Henna Dragon..am thinking I might do a print and add a little color..what do ya think??

Done da done done done..till Fall...WHOOOOOT!

Pthhhffffffffttttt ....LOL... NOT!!! I will be whipping out my summer reading list that has been added to since last August...nothing but brainless pleasure reading for me..till the end of August. I am going to do this....

I think I will play with this little beauty....(thank you Christine:)

I will be watching lots of this....

For the next week I will be suffering from this.....

I am thinking I am gonna be doing a WHOLE lot of this... cause it makes me happy and calm!

Oh and a bit of this too..cause it is wicked fun and so pretty!!

What else am I gonna do after I recharge for a couple days..I am gonna take care of me...

Lots and lots of walking and hiking and better eating habits. Oh and one other thing..I am gonna see this beautiful woman:)

My sister is coming for a visit and I am over the moon!!!

Werewolves, Floods and Finals...

I have not disappeared of the face of the Earth..I am still here ..really! Life has been a bit crazy busy and I am trying to keep up. I have gotten a little bit of artwork done though..OK partway done. Here is a WIP (work in progress) of my latest piece..a Celtic werewolf. This is only part of the picture cause it is too big to scan on my printer. This might be one of three or four pieces..am thinking on that! Something a little dark for me, but a nice change from sweet. Every girl needs that now and again.

We seem to have some extra water in the lake this spring!! That sign is usually 20 feet down the sand! In the 15 years I have lived here I cannot say I have ever seen the lake this high!! Our favorite pebble puppy beach is now under water! Of course that could mean more treasures when it recedes!!

On to the reason I am missing in action. Finals!! Ackkk. Several papers, a blog and several finals due all in the last week and a half. Now generally I am one of those annoying people that completes everything two weeks ahead. I know..but I can't help it. I can work under pressure effectively..I just don't like it much. But this semester, it all snuck up on me! I woke up last Tuesday realizing I had a huge amount of work to do and very little time to complete it. I had a tummy bug the week before and was WAY behind.

But......as the spring waters and school work recedes ..summer will be here. This will be the very first summer in many years that I do not have a house full of daycare kiddos. I intend to enjoy it fully with my kids, do lots of artwork, blogging and knitting, read all the books I have not had time for and relax..before my senior year starts in August!
