Friday Shoot-out....Metal...

So....Audrey chose the theme today... Metal. So here are my metals with a little story to boot.
Jim wanted me to take a walk down to the little store a few blocks away to get something for him and I thought - oh wonderful chance to find a bit of metal...so my camera went with me.

So.. instead of my direct route I tootled.. to the library bike rack and fountain..

Then, I tootled around the block...

I really do love ornamental iron.

I was almost to the store when I spied this and tootled off that way.

And then there was this lovely old leaded glass window....

It was a very good thing that I tootled because as I came around the corner and walked up to the little store, there were police everywhere!!?? Had I arrived a few minutes earlier, if I had gone straight to the store, I would have walked into the middle of an armed robbery!!! Not only does this just not happen in our little town, but in broad daylight, never. So thanks to Audrey, I was spared!! Thank you Audrey for sending me off in search of metal!!!
Huge grateful hugs hon!!!

So...I comforted our young store clerk who was a wreck, poor kid and headed home. Thanked my lucky stars and got a huge hug from Jim.

I could not do a collection of metal without these last two...my bead bowl and...

A sample of Jim's silver ore...the dark stuff is the silver!!

Namaste, Sarah

OH MY STARS SARAH! That is such a scary story! I am SO grateful that you were toodling everywhere BUT the store! Is the young woman okay?

I almost feel guilty saying this given the situation but you got some gorgeous shots! I love them all. And I am so, so happy that you are okay!

Thank you hon!! Yes the clerk is a young man and he was very shaken by the whole thing. When the man walked into the store with a stocking cap and gun he ran into the back room. The robber left and ran away. I am under the impression that the robber was also young.
So glad you like my pics!! Sarah

Well lets hope the robbers are soon behind metal bars! These are so nice, Sarah...I'm beginning to think that photography can be added to your list of Charms!

I loved all the metal shots, but those blue petunia baskets!!! Amazing! Don't you just love blue flowers?

Did they catch the robbers??

Niffty metal shots (so beautiful!!) I ended up with industrial metal shots. ;D

Scary bit about the robbery, I would be shaken as well!

Good thing you went "tooling" around (my dad likes to say that as well). ;D

Sarah...

I am so glad that destiny took you tootling, karma for all the wonderful things you do for others, and good spirits protecting my friend.

I love the photos, and better yet they all lead to a happy ending.

Amazing how the universe works. You had two adventures -- picture taking and the one you, thankfully, missed! Loved all the pictures, but think the flower baskets on the light are just tooooooo wonderful! You GO girl!

First I thought: OH, lucky girls, she lives in such a lovely town, with so many beautiful places and views, but that scary end did put me back to reality.

I'm glad you're safe.

Lovely photos!
I was going along... reading your pleasant narrative... enjoying the beauty in your pix... thinking you must live in heaven! Then, when I got to the part about ARMED ROBBERY, I felt this so happy that you were spared, and wondered what effect it will have on the young store clerk. Hopefully it won't scar him for life! Sending hugs and good thoughts your way, Sarah!

so glad you went for a walk first, but you may have been able to get a pic of the robber so they could catch him. (or did they already catch him/her)

I love the first fence around the corner shot. so cool!! nice series of metal shots.

I am glad you tootled, too.

I love all your photos, especially your bead bowl. I could play in there all day.

Looking at your photos around town was just liking being with you, taking a stroll. Very nice work. you captured your little tootle walk perfectly. Glad you took your tootle time.

Have a great weekend!

Wow Sarah,
I am also glad you took a longer route that day, very scary! I was held up at gun point before when I was a cashier at a book store. Very scary stuff!!!
I am glad you and the clerk are safe, and you did get some beautiful photos, you have a talent for this as well :)
