Quilting Bee #15

Good morning!! Thank you all for coming back to join me this week. I have set out some light but delicious things for you to enjoy today. Croissants with honey butter, angel food cake and the most delicious berries you have ever seen!! Fat, juicy blueberries, raspberries, strawberries & blackberries...yummmmmy. I have put out some melon, all mouth wateringly sweet and granola and yogurt. My local coffee shop has brought along not only some delicious hot coffee but she arrived with her granita machine..ever had one? Think coffee icee. You can add vanilla, chocolate, any regular coffee flavoring...I love em plain!! Honestly I'm not sure how she does it..but hers are by far the best in town!! I have racked something a little different today, a tapestry for you to run your fingers over and enjoy the delicious colors and textures as we try our hands at something a bit different..weaving. Please pull up a chair and join me.

Although I finished virtually no artwork, cleaning, hiking or time at the beach during my vacation. I did do alot of sitting and watching TV, thinking and reading. I love the movie "Signs", not because Mel is in it, although it didn't hurt...but really I love M. Night Shyamalan thinking process. I love how he develops suspense and sends you off in wrong directions, doubt yourself and become totally involved in the story. What I love about "Signs" is the story under the story... synchronicity. The idea that everything is tied together, even when we don't see it as it is happening.

Have you ever had those odd moments that the hair stands up on the back of your neck when you realize that had you not forgotten that paper and gone back in, started out one minute later you would have been hit by that huge truck that just missed you?? Do you ever write a piece here and then pop into three other blogs and find someone has been thinking the very same thing? Sometimes even the same type of photos? Beyond that you connect with that person on a different deeper level..you are in sync. I often wonder..why does this happen..what is the bigger purpose here. Is it just a funny coincidence? When you are missed by that truck do you just sigh and move on or do you stop and remember what wonderful things you have in your life? Do you take these little messages and consider the reason behind them?

I guess I tend to look for deeper meaning in most things. I love it when I write a piece and then see it in someone else's post too. Is there a purpose? I really believe we are brought together in this way for a reason. I think there is a real reason why we are in sync with each other..to share of ourselves. I love the honesty I find here, about real issues, real men and women sharing real life. Not movie versions, but real life, hard, painful, exhausting, joyful, exciting, blessed life. The ups and down of real life can be shocking, deeply upsetting..they can be real. They can also be so amazingly beautiful that you cry tears of joy. They are all a sychronized tapestry.

I guess I was wondering as I sat on the couch this week, do you all see the way the threads in your life are woven together with the threads of others here, how they synchronize to make pictures and pattens. Sometimes we only touch someone else's threads in one place, sometimes our threads are deeply woven into another's threads. Making rich, beautiful patterns. Why do we reach out to one person and not another, or deeply connect with one rather than another? I truly believe there is a beautiful synchronicity that takes our threads, painful and joyful ones and weave them together with others, whether we pay attention to where they meet..they do. I believe that the more we pay attention to where our threads are being drawn to, the more we see that bigger picture, not just the little patch of threads we are residing in, but the whole stunning tapestry. How our threads touch others and how theirs touch us. I for one do not believe things happen randomly, I believe there is a purpose and synchronicity for where those threads go.That we are intended to step away from our little patch and see the big picture. So...if you would like to please share with us what you think about this!

I am off to have a delicious granita and some of that delicious angel food cake with lots of berries hold the whip cream please. What would you like? I do love it when you join me to quilt our ideas!! Namaste, Sarah

I brought strawberry muffins!

We are all star stuff ... coming from the stars and going back, eventually. Tied together. We just have to see and remember.

From one gorgeous thread to another, let's continue to wrap around each other and see what we combine to bring into being...

I loved this...I always like my Mondays here...and like you I'm often struck by the theme's that seem to travel amongst the blogs at certain times.

I know it's not the power of suggestion because I try to write what I am going to share prior to going to my friends' sites. That way I know it'll be 'mine' before it becomes 'ours'.

So, when I go visiting and see the examples of great minds thinking alike, well, it makes me stop and say, "Well, I'll be..."

Could it be like you asked how we respond to one but not so much another, a case here in blog land that like minds seek each other out? Hmm...I'll be wondering about that while I help myself to some berries and coffee.

Hugs, My One Who Looks For The Deeper Meaning In Things!

Sarah, this is one of my favorite posts! I am a huge believer in synchronicity or divine intervention or whatever one chooses to call it. I believe that we are missed by the truck because we haven't completed what we are supposed to do in this realm. I further believe that the truck was placed there as a wake-up call or as a reminder that we have a purpose. It is then up to us to recognize and act on that purpose. And I believe that the reason we connect with some and not others is because there are lessons to be shared between the two. But once again, we must be acutely attuned to recognizing those lessons, and acting on them.

This was great! I loved it. And I love that "Sarah" is back! And now I would love an iced coffee.

Sarah, I loved this post, Fantastic! I believe everything happens for a reason, I often look back on the bad days and think, well if that didn't happen, I wouldn't have meet this person, done that thing, you know. Oh, you say it so much better than me! Hand me a coffee quick please, i am getting all flustered, hehe! Great post and great to know you are back!

I believe we all have a purpose, interwind, and weave with destinys. I think we dont have to physically live near or next to someone to brush off on others. I think we all can find comfort in instincts and communicating in many means to do this. Synchronicity is in all things...by ne thread we all connect...Love your posts sweetie...always have.

I will have croissants and coffee please! What time should I arrive? It will take a while to get from Ok to Idaho.

I love this idea about the threads. We are all linked but lots of people never notice or think about it. Kinda sad, really. Imagine going through your whole life and never to ponder that thought or your connection to the divine!

OMG...let's talk about synchronicity! You were right in your comment on my blog. It is very strange that we all flow with a pattern. I have always felt like several other comments here that all things happen for a reason...a bigger picture that we are unaware of. Imagine if our threads did not work together to form either the border of the tapestry or the design in the center. Sometimes I feel as if we are little pawns being moved in a big chess game. Loved this post!

Wow, threads come together all the time whether we recognize it or not. I've been thinking a lot lately about 2 years ago. For my spring doc appt in Utah two years ago, they decided I need to be evaluated, once again, for a heart transplant. Before I even got back to Idaho, they were calling to set up further evaluations! I had them at the end of June and moved to Utah shortly after July 4th. After waiting for only 6 weeks, a beautiful young lady was in a car accident and I was qualified for her beautiful heart.

As they were literally walking in the OR with her heart, my heart stopped. The threads of many lives entertwined that day to make my life continue. I think about that daily, but from now until Sept 6, it is continually in my mind. That reminds me, I need to send my donors Grandma an email to remind her how much she means to me.

Blessings,
Christine

Sarah,
I love this post about how we are interwoven. How our actions intertwine and intersect. How we are interdependent. And when we are able to become attuned to this marvelous awareness, we open to the magic of our lives. This flow is Joy. So nice to hear your take on this...

May your heart dance today!

Been thinking and reading a lot about synchronicity lately, so I could only smile when I started to read your post. We are all woven together, because we are part of one cloth. Synchronicity is the universe's way of reminding us of that truth. The more you trust it and look for it, the more you'll see it and be amazed by it -- miracles every day, right before your eyes. Those berries are little miracles, too -- yum!

I am always looking for deeper meaning in everything...even the smallest and most mundane of things...keeps my brain busy some days.

If you are so inclined, dear, there is a little something for you on my blog, simply because I love doing this. :-)

Sarah, great post. I heard a great analogy once about just what you're talking about here and a number of comments have referred to weaving which is kind of what it's about. So the analogy is when you look at the back of a woven rug - it's all crazy threads and colors and you can't really tell what it's supposed to be, but when you turn it over, there is the pattern, beautiful and plain as day. I think that in life we won't always know why things happened as they did, but when we get to Heaven, it will be picture perfect. BTW, now that I've read your blog, I'm starving. Coffee, angelfood cake and berries please!

I adore all of your illustrations and my passion is to collect art from living artists, the ones I love of course! And my favorite of your prizes is the Moonlight Market! I love the owl in the tree and the shopping witch with the saleslady with a bun on the top of her head!
I will put a fun post on my blog and will get back to you! Yay! A new artist I can follow!
