A New Big Piece and Friday the 13th!

I think I mentioned a few days back..that I was wanting my artwork to follow its path..that my muse was encouraging...ok bugging the crap out of me LOL to Let Fly with whatever came to me...so I did. This picture has been floating around in my head since it was mentioned that the little sea gardens would make lovely fabric. Sometimes that is all it takes ..a little acorn of an idea. So here is where my head went. This piece is by far the largest drawing I have done for a bit..11" x 14". It is not completely inked yet and much of the small detail is incomplete also. But..what you can't see is that her feet are in the water and the bitsy critters and fish are flowing right off her dress into the pond...I do so love a bit of magic!

So my head is already here..in the Fall. A week back I was mourning the loss of summer..it was really short here as June was very cool. My pumpkin vines are a 1/4 of the size they were last year! I do have few bitsy tomatoes though and we managed a handful of raspberries..they were a surprise...love those!! So..as the new school year starts and I am interviewing prospective parents and kiddos..my head has already left the summer and is moving on. I do so love the Fall!
As I have said a bit of late...I will be 50 this October..and ya know I am really good with that. I loved turning 30 and I feel much the same about 50! I like the idea of being this age...I thank goodness that I am a bit smarter and wiser than I was at 30..is a blessing. So I am welcoming this too..along with the changing of the seasons!
Happy Friday the 13th..may it be a lucky day for you!!! I am not much for superstitions!!! It is Friday and this is a good thing!!
Namaste, Sarah

The drawing is beautiful as is, but when you described how it will look when completed, I could only say "Wow". That will be magical ... as are you. This will be a 'lucky' and magical day - I'm going to make it so.

I have way too much emotion to verbally express the feelings that your noble-woman induces. So, I think I'll just leave it at that. <---in between the lines I said, "OMG THIS IS FREAKIN' BEAUTIFUL." ...and I'm a little anxious to see it all inked up :) WHOOHOO LET FLY GIRLIE! :)hehehehe

I am eager to see the drawing inked in, and that photo makes me start writing vignettes in my head every time I see it.

You are so talented!

I love it! And, also besides being grateful for you Muse who pushes you along, on this Friday the 13th, let's raise a glass to my beloved Father-in-Love who celebrates his birthday today. Despite his deep battle with cancer, he is here with us and is still in love with being alive!

I really like the photo of the yard with the great colors in it. I would like your permission to print it out and use it in a frame in my little hippie house. I will wait to hear from you if it is okay.

I enjoy your art and I really love the positive energy of your writing. It is also always great to hear someone celebrating their age rather than dreading it.

How lovely! She looks so delicate and fragile, and yet has a spine of steel when she needs it.

And how majickal to have roots in the earth, and yet flows with the tides! Well done, Sarah!

May today be an extra lucky day for you!!

I understand - my brain made the Summer to Fall transition over the last few days. I'm now getting excited about the changing leaves, football games, marching band..... and the weather NOT being 105!!! :)

Great concept for the drawing! I'm excited to see the finished product too!

Your drawing is looking fabulous Sarah! I'll be watching for your updates.

I know most of the country is sweltering in the heat, but Los Angeles is just barely starting to feel like summer. (I'm wearing a sweater!) Kids go back to school here 9/13 which is when I'm sure the temps will finally skyrocket. In the meantime, it's so cold my tomato plants are still tiny and almost fruitless. Oy.

Lovely drawing Sarah!

We've had the hottest summer since 1952 with many 100+ days and heat indexs from 107-115! A long hot summer here! Am so looking forward to fall.

50 was okay for me, 55 wasn't as my health went south on me :)
