Cabin Fever..Look What We Saw.....

Today..after a week of frigid temps and illness in the house..we decided that all were doing well and we needed a trip out of the house. We are fortunate enough here in Coeur d Alene to have a special migration fly through each year about this time. Can ya see his tail in the above picture?

Here he's a bit closer here...

Oh that's better....

Look at that..Bald Eagles!! Two males and a female!!

This year with a car we are able to go and look!!

Amazing creatures aren't they!! What a pure joy to see them in the wild!!

They are after this..a bit of salmon.

I know ewww but look at the teeth on that bad boy!!

We had some serious fun and I was in camera heaven. I have camera envy..I do..if you want to see some amazing shots of these eagles. Taken by a couple at the same time as mine. Click Here!! They were shooting with much better lenses than mine and what beautiful work!!! Missi was sweet enough to stop and show me the samon for a few macro shots! Thanks hon!!
Have a warm weekend, Sarah

Aren't they amazing? I have a friend who is known as 'the eagle man' in Vancouver, B.C. He studies, counts, and protects eagles in that part of the continent. His name is David Hancock and you can find his website by googling his name. He has streaming videos of eagles in their nests hatching their eggs in the Spring. Thanks Sarah - must have been so exciting to see them.

Glad you are all feeling better.

More photos! How great!! :-)

It is easy to get camera envy. No matter how many lenses you have, there is always one more on your wish list. It is then you know that you have arrived as a photographer! lol

I jest, but it is actually a good sign that you are growing, and want to expand your expression of the world as you see it. You haven't become complacent.

So now what camera and lenses are on your wish list?

Thank you for sharing your wonderful images, and your fresh air outing with us1 I'm glad to hear that you and your family are feeling better!!

More hugs!
Suzie

Sarah, your photos are fantastic! You know, there are people out there that have state of the art camera equipment, that can't take a halfdecent picture. I love your photos! What an event, to see those eagles! Thanks for sharing!!

That is on majestic bird! GORGEOUS! Who exciting for you to see it in person.

I'm heading out of town all next week without an Internet connection (gulp!) so I'll catch up on your posts when I return. Have a great week Sarah.

The Canon Rebel's come with great value. I remember shooting with their first (!) consumer rebel (300D) when I worked for a local newspaper a couple of years ago. With a good lens they are capable of delivering really good results. :)

Sarah, when my last camera bit the dust, I bought a Canon EOS REbel XS, and so far, I love it. It came with a 25mm 0.8ft lens, that zooms from 18mm to 55mm.

I already have my eye on a true macro first (there are several that fit this camera), and then a good zoom. I'm hoping that since they are light weight, that they won't have the creeping problem that the old manual zooms had. Telephotos were much better for that reason, but one needed a BIG pocketbook to afford all that a good zoom could cover, and there wasn't as much to carry around with you.

This model has a lot of bells and whistles, but not as many as the more expensive models of course, but I really don't use a lot of the extras, preferrinig to use my money on good glass in the lenses. My manual camera for years, was a Canon F1, which was completely manual. When I started shooting weddings, I finally broke down and bought a Canon A1, and then a medium format camera too, but my favorite for all of my nature work was my F1. I eventually gave everything to my son, except for that camera, and my favorite macro lens. I just couldn't part with them. lol

I think that you'll like the Rebel Are you going to start sweet talking Santa now? :-)
