Jamie our fearless leader has asked us this week..."What is your Winter wish?" This as always seems like a simple question..but honestly I had to stop and give it some serious thought for a bit before I could respond. There are so many things going on right now that I could wish about..but I think I will go this way and see what ya'll think.
A few months ago..last Spring actually, I sent Renee an email about an idea I was throwing around. I was considering a new project and wanted her wise input. I have had an illustrated book rolling around in my head for a year of so now..insisting that I grow the story. I asked her what she thought about opening a new page to my blog just for this story and let the story and pictures unfold there. She has encouraged me to do this muse driven project!
Spring left and melted into Summer and I had a large, very attention seeking group of kiddos for the Summer, the Fall has been filled with holiday art. So here I am at the brink of Winter and the story is calling me to offer it up. So I am being brave and saying here today that I would like to Let Fly with this story and see where it leads me. I would like your thought too. My wish for this Winter is to Let Fly with this illustrated story, let the creativity flow and see where it leads me.

You can't deny muses...they just keep coming back until we finally we finally let them fly! (I've got a great journal quote I'll send you to this). So it doesn't matter what we say or even what you say...you gotta let her out!

As I read your lovely post, I was thinking how the seeds of your idea were planted in spring; they took root and grew in summer and autumn while you were distracted by other work; and now winter they are resting and waiting to emerge ... maybe an early spring for your creative life?
I always find, I regret not what I did, but what I didn't do or try.

Any project that is muse-driven will give birth to the right thing at the right time. Give your muse quiet time in an art journal or in meditation then wait for her to speak. I guarantee that she'll produce something fantastic just when you least expect it. Have faith dear Sarah, you are a very talented woman.
