Kitchen Science and Gifts...
I do so love kitchen science..ok am a science geek. I have been so busy knitting and drawing..this was a welcome change of pace.
I spent yesterday morning creating in the kitchen..a bit of grapefruit sugar scrub....yummmmmmm!
Some delicious bees wax and olive oil lip balm...ooo I love this stuff..
Of course the wrapping part is fun..little tags and shiny bags..whoot. Wonderful teacher gifts..
Here was my last little science project..by far the most time consuming..bath fizzies..we shall see if they work in the end..they have to dry first. So much fun. Of course my hands are green today..but who cares...I had a blast!!
Are you making something to give this year..I would love if you would share!!
Hugs and thank goodness it is Friday, Sarah
No, unfortunately! Usually I cook up a storm for gifts but this year I just haven't felt much like it since I found out I'm diabetic :(
ReplyDeleteAs much as I hate to, I took some commissions this year for extra $$ and just finished the last one. It's on my blog.
Loved your ACEO cards from Etsy! Wish I could do whimsy like you do! So LOVE the cat on the pumpkin~thank you so much!
Oh yes made all of my 16 Christmas gifts and got a bad shoulder and hand out of it, but they are well now. Love it all. Blessings to you dear one.

Someday I'm going to have the time to do these things...wonder if I'll use the time to do these things or other things??? You're so talented...
ReplyDeleteI recently discovered Iris paper folding and am loving it. So this year I have hand made a few cards! But teaching fulltime doesn't leave too much time to do much else in the 'making' line. One day!
ReplyDeleteWow Sarah! Amazing gifts! I make peppermint bark. I know you can buy it but mine has a twist and is yummy. :)
ReplyDeleteI made aprons for my daughter, ornaments and personalized pillow cases for the grandskids (same every year) and sent a bottle of home-brewed mead to the son who helped me make it last Christmas. Crocheted house shoes to my stuck up son-in-law who seems to love them and requests two pair every year...I've made other things all year but have forgotten what else.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun having a handmade Christmas...and your stuff has given me cravings for pumpkin custard, of all things. :~)
Jan
Thanks for the ideas!
ReplyDeleteMy girls will all be home soon and they can make this stuff together.
Gorgeous! You've been busy and what wonderful treats you made.
ReplyDeleteI'll be "cooking" this weekend dipping pretzel sticks into caramel, brickel, chocolate and nuts. It's so fun and they are sooooo good.
Hope the fizzies work-- which I'm SURe they will.
Merry Christmas, xo jj
Those all look so amazing. I've been wanting to make homemade body care products but never really got around to it. I've been baking up a bunch of goodies this season - some will end up as gifts. :) Theresa
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative, Sarah! Those lucky teachers are going to love those!
ReplyDeleteI have been making little quilted "mugrugs" and finishing off a quilt for one of my sister-in-laws that I didn't have time to make one for last year.
Grapefruit scrub sounds fantastic~!
ReplyDeleteStopping by to say hello :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like lots of fun and I'm sure smells really good!
