My Apologies....

Hi all. I am going to cancel our Quilting Bee for today. I am sorry folks..my head is so painful, I can't imagine anything I write would be worth reading. I have the flu...yes the lovely flu. After a week of fighting it off..it has caught up with me. I'm guessing it was the holiday parties most of the day on Friday at the kid's school. Then the four eleven year old boys who spent the night for Fox's birthday that evening..not sleeping. Pretty much just did me in. It has gone right to my head and left ear. I feel...well basically wicked horrid!! So I am begging off today. Would you kindly come by and see me next week? Thanks guys!
Hugs, Sarah

  7. Sarah, forgot to mention putting hydrogen peroxide in your ears. Try it. It helps. One at a time, let it bubble. It'll kill anything that's in there. x0x0x0 B

  21. Hi Sarah!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! Sorry you are not feeling well. Since I can't send you a cup of my yummy soup, I'll do the next best thing and send the recipe:

    OM girl/Becky’s Chicken Noodle Soup

Brown a 3 to 4# fryer chicken, cut up into pieces,
and seasoned with 1+1/2 tsp. salt and ½ tsp. pepper
in 2TB. oil over medium heat (about 10-15 min.)

Add to browning chicken pieces , cover,
and stir once or twice over the next 10 minutes:
    1 c. chopped onion (I use a yellow onion)
    ½ c. chopped celery
    ½ c. chopped carrots
    ½ c. chopped green onions
    2 TB. chopped garlic
    ¼ c. chopped fresh parsley
    1 TB. chopped fresh basil
    4 bay leaves
    1 TB. Creole seasoning (I use McCormick’s)

Add to the above chicken and veggies,
and simmer covered 1-1 ½ hours
until chicken falls off the bones:
    2 c. chopped vegetables…
    (I use 1 c. chopped red cabbage
    ½ cup chopped unpeeled zucchini,
½ c. chopped unpeeled yellow squash)
1 c. spinach leaves, cut up
    ¼ tsp. ground cayenne pepper
(DO NOT leave this out… it is the secret ingredient that makes this soup fantastic!!!)
    3 qts. Swanson Chicken Broth

    Remove the chicken, cool slightly, and then debone it;
    cutting larger pieces into bite-sized chunks;

***Remove all 4 bay leaves from the soup!***

Add deboned chicken back into broth and veggies, along with
    2 big handfuls (about 2 c.) of dried/homemade noodles
(I buy the homemade noodles at the grocery store…
I never use the commercially made noodles… it really makes a huge difference!!!)

Bring soup back to a boil and simmer covered for 10-15 minutes to cook noodles.
    Serve and enjoy!!!
